Did Venus Williams Wear Underwear or "Go Commando" at the Australian Open?
What if women tennis players of today had to wear fashions of the early 1900s and had to stop grunting like pigs?
Venus Williams Wore Underwear, Didn't "Go Commando" At the Australian Open: Is It Time To Go Back 100 Years?
Those of you who are into sports history will realize that women's tennis has evolved into quite a fashion statement over the decades. Circa 100 years ago, female tennis players had to wear long dresses as they played, like former tennis player Suzanne Lenglen, pictured here circa the early 20th century, thanks to tennis.quickfound.net. You wouldn't hear questions like Did Venus Williams wear underwear or "go commando"? at a tournament like the Australian Open back in the good ol' days of the rumble seat. I bet those kinds of outfits cut down on the speed of the players. Yet beautiful women, no matter what they are wearing, can make anything look good. In society today, there is too much showing off even if one isn't "going commando".
Venus Williams Wore Underwear, Didn't "Go Commando" at the Australian Open: Is It Torture on the Eyes?
To be honest with you, I don't even like watching tennis highlights anymore. I used to as a kid, but I got tired of hearing tennis players grunt like fat slovenly pigs, both men and women players. During an early 1980s tennis match, I recall commentary by some expert where he basically said that loud grunting is done for distraction purposes and is unnecessary. Loud grunting by female tennis players is not lady-like and should be banned. Do you think Suzanne Lenglen grunted like a pig like so many female tennis stars do today? Is loud grunting worse than some star like Venus Williams being taken to task for wearing underwear or doing the "go commando" thing at the Australian Open? Well, grunting is torture on the ears. Draw your own conclusions about whether women's tennis fashions of today are torture on your eyes. It depends on your perspective.
