Is Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip for the PSP Really Worth Your Cash?

Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip for the PSP seems like a very good game, and you might be thinking of buying it. However, before you throw down some cash for your copy, you should understand all the aspects of the game. Is it really worth your cash?

Graphics: I think that the graphics aren't anywhere near the expectation I have for a game. The pictures are supposed to be animated, but for me, the animations didn't cut it. Now, a few of my friends liked the animated graphics, but I think that the animations distracted from the game play and get a little annoying at times. I can't help but compare Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip to Virtua Tennis 3. In Virtua Tennis 3, the graphics are much better than Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip beause they look much more realistic and clearer.

Creativity: The creativity is the best part about the game. You can achieve many goals and unlock many unlockables. The creativity doesn't stop there, as you can unlock characters, accessories, and equipment to customize your characters! The story mode has many things to do than just increase your player stats and unlock better characters. It is probably the most creative thing I've ever seen because you don't have to win matches to get unlockables, you can sometimes find them in vases and lockers.

Game play: The game play is on the border between amazing and great. You can play single-player, or you can play multiplayer with friends. You have a wide variety of controls to use, and they are very easy to learn. The game is about as good as you really can make it. (I'd say the game play is very similar to Virtua Tennis 3.) Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip also has a story game mode. However, this story mode differs from other because instead of you taking on the best tennis players, you try to recruit them. You can also do many other things in the story mode besides play tennis. However, sometimes you wish that you could spend more time on the court than playing along with the story, which works against the game play. However, I think the game play is pretty good.

Fun: Despite the horrific graphics, the game is still very fun. You can play with a friend, or play by yourself. Also, you can strive to unlock many items and there is almost always something for you to do. It is pretty fun and will stay fun for a long time, but eventually it stops being super-addicting after a few weeks of playing it. However, you don't worry about dusting the cover of this game in the next month.

Now, it all comes down that are you willing to spit out 20 dollars for this game. In my opinion, I would only buy it if I don't already own a copy of Virtua Tennis 3. Now, considering that Virtua Tennis 3 is 40 dollars, Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip seems like a better option if you are looking for a good tennis game that costs very little. Another cheaper alternative to Virtua Tennis 3 is Virtua Tennis: World Tour. If you are wondering which game is better, Virtua Tennis: World Tour or Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip, look no further. They both cost about 20 dollars, so the price doesn't play much of a factor. However, Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip has a better story mode where you sort of play manager mode; you control many characters to win championships as you progress their skills. In Vitrua Tennis: World Tour, you control only one character as you progress his skills, and you win all your championships with that character. However, Virtua Tennis has much better graphics than Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip. Well, the decision is all up to you. Thanks and happy gaming!
