Baby Block Shelf Brackets

These baby block shelf brackets are easy to make. You can get a fun designer look in your nursery with these baby block shelf brackets!

So, break out those wooden baby blocks and get ready to build some designer nursery shelf brackets.

To Build Nursery Block Shelf Brackets You Will Need:

Wood Baby Blocks

Double sided screws

Power drill

Pliers

So the first step is to of course decide how large your need your baby block shelf brackets to be.

To do this simply measure how deep your wood shelf is. Now, make your bracket the same size or one or two inches smaller. To make it easy, make each side of the L shaped bracket the same size.

Now, line your baby blocks out in a row to make one side of the bracket. Measure to make sure you have the right length.

When placing the baby blocks, make sure you have the sides facing out that you want to see. For the most part you will probably want the letters to show. This is a great time to customize your baby block shelf brackets with the baby's name or even the words "Girl" or "Boy."

Now, take the first baby block and drill a hole in the middle back of it, where it will be touching the net baby block.

Take the second baby block and drill a hole in the middle front of it to align with the hole you just drilled.

Attach the two pieces together with double sided screws. Use yoru pliers so you do not cut your fingers on the screw threads.

Repeat this until you make your baby block shelf bracket as deep at you need.

Make another one of these identical pieces with the same amount of baby blocks. Always predrilling those holes.

Now, to assemble the L shape of the bracket you will need one of those flat bracket that s a hole on each end. You find these where you find L brackets.

Lay you two strips of baby blocks out like an L. Line your flat metal bracket on the back and screw it into place to hold the two strips of blocks in the shape of an L. Predrill those holes again!

Now, repeat this whole process to make as many baby block shelf brackets as you need for your nursery.

You can simply drill these wood shelf brackets into the wall and then top them off with yoru shelves. Be sure to drill into studs so you know your nursery shelf brackets will stay attached to the wall!

If you do not hit a stud, then use a toggle bolt.
