Surprise Arizona Tennis and Racquet Complex, Home of the CTCA Outback Champions Series
A description of the popular tennis complex in Surprise, Arizona.
The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club offers lessons for adults and juniors of any experience level. They offer the Surprise Tennis University which is an 11 week course for adult beginners. It offers a 6 week on-court and off-court instruction, 4 weeks of supervised match play and an end of program non-elimination tournament and player party. They have Tennis Intro 1 for new or returning beginner players, Tennis Intro 2 for the advanced beginner player who has graduated from Tennis Intro 1 or other beginner program, Drills and Skills for low intermediate to advanced players, Adult Challengers for low intermediate players ready to take the next step in strategy, game play and advanced techniques, Adult Challengers II for intermediate players that have graduated from Adult Challengers and Cardio Tennis for all abilities where you get to hit a lot of balls set to music.
They offer various programs for juniors as well, for all ages. There is the Evolution Tennis Program (ETP) for ages 12 and younger and a Junior Competitive Program for kids aged 12 and older. The Junior Competitive Program includes Surprise Tennis School for Junior High and High School students only and is an 11 week program similar to the adult Tennis University. They have Junior Team Tennis for kids age 8-11 all abilities, Junior Varsity for low intermediate kids age 12 and up, Varsity for intermediate through advanced level players, Futures for beginners and advanced beginners age 12 and up, Tournament I class for low intermediate players and Tournament II for the high school varsity player or USTA tournament player. They also offer both singles and doubles league play which is $5.00 per match.
The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club has two indoor racquetball courts available for public use. Reservations are suggested and Surprise residents can reserve a court 2 days in advance and non-residents 1 day in advance. The fees for Surprise residents are $3.00 and non-residents are $4.00.
There are also four table tennis tables available for no charge on a first come/first serve basis. Paddles and balls are complimentary as well. There is a Pro Shop that offers men's and women's apparel, balls, stringing, shoes, racquets, racquetball equipment and accessories.
The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club opened in 2020 and was awarded the 2020 USTA Outstanding Facility award. It is located at 14469 W. Paradise Lane in Surprise, Arizona. The phone number is (623) 222-2400. It features 25 courts, of which 17 are lighted, a 2500 seat center arena, a 7 day a week operational schedule, two racquetball courts, free use of table tennis tables including paddles and balls, classes and activities for all ages and skills and it's all available to residents and non-residents alike. It is open 6:30-11:30 a.m., 4:30-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6:30-12:30 p.m., 4:30-9 p.m. on Saturday and 6:30-11:30 a.m. on Sunday during the summer months (June 1 through September 30). Winter hours (October 1 through May 31) are 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
