I Cannot Live Without My Chuck Taylors by Converse
Every girl has a pair of shoes they love and cherish. Usually, it's sexy black heels or strappy stilettos. But for me? For me, it's a pair of Chuck Taylors.
My parents bought me my first pair of chucks when I was about 11-years-old. I still remember them -- black high-tops. Was there any other kind? I didn't think anything of it when I first put them on. They were actually a bit loose for me but being a growing child heading into my teenage years, my parents were smart and knew they would get at least a year or so worth out of them. Man, were they right.
I owned those pair of chucks well through my first year in high school and finally bought myself a pair of blue low-top chucks which are now my favorite type of chucks -- which have recently been replaced with a new fresh pair courtesy of my brother as a Christmas present. As we all know, there are many variations done with the Chuck Taylors. If you check out www.converse.com, you'll find Chucks made out of leather and spray painted gold, batman symbol Chucks, and the slip-ons. There are tons of different ways of wearing this awesome shoe.
These shoes are extremely comfortable. They provide about an inch of rubber sole thickness to enhance the comfort leve. The sole of the shoe has a unique diamond shaped design to provide traction -- which I have no complaints about. For those who feel the low-top shoe does not provide support for the back of your heel -- you're mistaken. The back part of the shoes come up high enough so you will not feel like the shoe will slip off.
Whoever owns a pair of Chucks knows you can wear them with pretty much anything depending on where you are going. I wear them jeans, sweatpants and skirts. Yes, I wear them with skirts and dresses too! For me, it gives off a feeling of comfortability without sacrificing style. Chucks have a lot of attitude depending on the color you buy and the style. They give a laid-back look to any straight-laced outfit. I have definitely worn my Chucks with dress pants and what I love about that is even though you've got these great feminine dress pants on, you are still able to maintain a level of casualness. It's adds a bit of tomboyish attitude to your outfit. And ladies -- the emergence of the skinny jean has widened the spectrum of what I can wear my Chucks with. They look great with a pair of skinny black jeans.
Do I have to mention how affordable these shoes are? I have to say, Chuck Taylors are perhaps the most affordable shoe I've bought and received my money's worth at the same time. My black pumps don't hold a candle to my Chucks. You can find these shoes virtually everywhere. The www.converse.com website is great and provides the most varied source of Chucks I have ever come across. The best part? You can custom design your own shoe! I tried designing a pair of low-top Chucks and the total came out to $60! That's an awesome price for a shoe you'll wear all the time! Another great website is www.zappos.com. They provide excellent service as I have bought shoes from them before. Chucks can range from as low as $41.99 to over $100 depending on what type of shoe you are buying. However, the Chucks you'll find at stores like Journey's will cost about $40 - $60.
I cannot encourage you enough to buy a pair of Chuck Taylors. You'll never own a more stylish and comfortable shoe like this, ever!
