Tennis Television - Why I Love the Tennis Channel
I love the Tennis Channel first and foremost because of the incredible game tips they give during commercials and breaks. For a young player, its daily telecasts are almost priceless.
That's right tennis lovers, I'll admit it - the Tennis Channel has not only assisted me, but the entire Williams clan, to improve their respective tennis games in a multitude of ways.
I love the Tennis Channel first and foremost because of the incredible game tips they give during commercials and breaks. For a relatively young player in the sport like myself, the various tips and drills that the Tennis Channel often shows throughout the course of its daily telecasts are almost priceless.
These tips, offered up from some of the most well-known and well-respected professional tennis coaches on the planet from Nick Bolliteri to John Newcomb teach players of all ages and skill levels everything from how to hit a forehand winner to how to execute a perfect backhand slice.
The next reason I love the Tennis Channel is the fact that, although I've been watching tennis avidly for at least three decades, I still love to watch some of the greatest matches in the history of the sport that the Tennis Channel routinely shows as they bring back a multitude of wonderful memories, not to mention stuff I forgot in my advancing age.
From Born Borg to John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras, the Tennis Channel often airs historic matches that leave older viewers in a pleasant state of reminiscence while giving young viewers a dose of history and past excellence.
I also love the fact that the tennis channel shows the personal side of many of the current players on both professional tours and how they prepare for a match, both mentally and physically. For me, not only is it fun to learn these things about some of your favorite pro players on either tour, but also, if you can take away anything from what some of the pros do and apply it to your own game, that makes it even better.
Being a huge professional tennis viewer, I love the fact that the Tennis Channel has brought into all four Grand Slam tournaments, making their presence felt in a big way and laying new claim, as the channel likes to say, as the 'home to the slams.'
The Tennis Channel also does periodic features throughout its daily telecasts on some of the best tennis resorts in the world.
In short, I find the Tennis Cannel to be informative, entertaining and original and a must for tennis aficionados everywhere.
