2020 Sony Ericsson Open: Top Professional Tennis Tournament in Key Biscayne
Why is the Sony Ericsson Open one of the best tennis tournaments in the world to watch?
The event has had many different names over the years, as sponsors come and go. This year's Sony Eriscsson Open will be a very pleasant tournament to watch, even more pleasant than the four Grand Slams. The gathering of all the best players in the world in a more intimate atmosphere is at the top of the list. You can see unbelievably great players featuring awesome matches in small courts, which makes you feel like they were playing in our club.
Then there is the stadium court. At a Grand Slam event, you can only see a match in the stadium court if you are a tournament's guest, a player's guest, a sponsor, or a very, very rich person. Otherwise you will have to sit so high above the court that there is no way you will have a clue of what's going on down there. Crandon Park's stadium court is the most democratic of them all. No matter how much you can afford for a ticket or where you sit, it is guaranteed that you will enjoy the show!
The organization always schedules top players to the side courts, like the Grand Stand, maybe one of the most charming courts there is. Add to that the possibility of seeing, from a side fence of a practice court, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Rodick, Sharapova, Williams Sisters, Safina, Petrova, etc, hitting against each other.
There is a very competitive scenario on the men's side this year. If we have Rafael Nadal hot as ever, trying to consolidate himself as a true number one in the world with a still hungry Roger Federer around, we can not write off the man from Switzerland and probably the best of all times. Completing the "big four" list are Andy Murray and Novak Dkokovic, also true contenders, the later being a past champion in Miami. And let's keep an eye on Marin Cilic, youngster from Coacia, Australia Open's semi finalists Fernando Verdasco, from Spain and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, from France.
On the women's side, Serena Williams is expected to win the tournament, with potential threats from Dinara Safina, Jelena Jankovic and Elena Dementieva. Her sister Venus has not shown her best game this year yet. Usually less surprises are expected among the women, and here in Miami will be no different.
Tickets can be easily bought at the box office every day, they are always available and there are no lines. Parking is not a problem either. The organization does a great job all the way through. So if you are in Miami between March 25th and April 5th, don't miss this great opportunity to see some fine tennis action in Key Biscayne.
