Cleveland Park

A well-known public tennis park that is used for both tennis leagues and leisure tennis is the 126-acre Cleveland Park located at East Washington and Cleveland Park Drive near downtown Greenville. Separated from the broad playground by the Reedy River, the tennis court is located on Richland Way. This court has five adjacent tennis cages with asphalt pavement. Two benches sit on the outside of each tennis cage underneath the surrounding overhead light poles for game night. Also bordering the tennis courts are a small children's play area, a baseball field, a basketball court, and a small parking lot. Numerous other parking spaces are further away within the park; while shelters, grills, and public restrooms are within walking distance.

Gower Estates Park

Another public tennis park that offers a peaceful setting away from busy roads is the 25-acre Gower Park located on Laurel Creek Lane right off of Laurens Road in the city of Greenville. Within one long tennis cage are five adjacent tennis nets with asphalt pavement surrounded by nine overhead light poles. This tennis court is bordered by a baseball field, a basketball court, a small children's play area, and a walking trail. Two benches and a water fountain lie nearby. Gower Park has a spacious parking lot, a shelter within walking distance, and a men and women's restroom at the entrance of the park near the baseball field.

McPherson Park

A smaller 12.9-acre public tennis park is McPherson Park situated on North Main Street and East Park Avenue. This tennis court has two nets, asphalt pavement, and 4 pole lights. Some distinguished landmarks surrounding the court include the Senior Center and Log Cabin Craft Store, a picnic shelter, a bandstand/shelter, a small playground, and a basketball hoop. Visitors will also notice two benches in the grass and two in front of the restrooms as well as three picnic tables apart from the shelter.

All of these tennis parks offer various accommodations for lighting, seating, parking, and restrooms. The nearby alternative sports sections and children's play areas are ideal for large groups who choose to divide themselves among different activities such as during birthday or holiday outings. Further, each park tailors to individual preference such as playing tennis in the open near roadways or in a more private setting.
